Assembly's bipartisan approval of Assignment of Benefits a positive for oral health in Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Dental Association today released the following statement from WDA President Dr. Chris Hansen (Manitowoc) regarding the Assembly’s passage of Assembly Bill 62, the Assignment of Benefits bill, on a voice vote. AB 62 allows an individual insured under a dental benefit plan to assign reimbursement for dental and related services directly to a dental provider.
“On behalf of the 3,100 members of the Wisconsin Dental Association and the hundreds of thousands of patients we serve, we are pleased to see this important legislation move forward. We thank the authors, Sen. Duey Stroebel and Rep. Rob Brooks, Committee on Insurance Chair Rep. Barbara Dittrich and Assembly leadership, as well as the lawmakers who gave the bill their bipartisan support.
“Assignment of Benefits puts patients in control of their benefits and removes financial and administrative hurdles that can be confusing for some Wisconsin families. We celebrate today’s vote and now look forward to working with the Senate to make AOB a reality in Wisconsin.”
