Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation welcomes new vice president and directors

The Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation is pleased to announce a new vice president and directors to its board of directors.
 
         Dr. Timothy Durtsche, a retired oral and maxillofacial surgeon from La Crosse, has accepted the position of vice president of the WDA Foundation. Dr. Durtsche has a deep background in organized dentistry at the state, regional and local levels, including a term as WDA president. In 2009, he and his wife served as local co-chairs of the WDA Foundation’s first Mission of Mercy event. Dr. Durtsche will also continue to serve in his previous role on the WDA Foundation Board as regional director of Region 5 – Southwest until a new director is elected to fill that position.
 
         Dr. Alicia Malak, a general dentist in Oconomowoc, has been elected to her first term as regional director of Region 4 – Southeast. Dr. Malak is a graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry (MUSoD). She is a 2022 graduate of the WDA Leadership Academy and she is a member of the Waukesha County Dental Society. Dr. Malak has been a dedicated volunteer for the WDA Foundation’s Mission of Mercy events and serves on the WDA Foundation’s Donated Dental Services Advisory Committee.
 
          Dr. Richard Mueller, a retired general dentist from Hales Corners, has been elected to serve as a state director. Dr. Mueller is a graduate of MUSoD and has been active in organized dentistry at the state, regional and local levels throughout his career. He currently serves as the treasurer of the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association (GMDA) and he has served as a delegate to the WDA House of Delegates since 2001. Dr. Mueller has volunteered at all Mission of Mercy events since 2009, and has volunteered at Give Kids a Smile Days and Head Start Days with GMDA.
 
         Dr. Ruba Khader, a dentist in Milwaukee, now serves as a state director. She previously served as a regional director of Region 4 – Southeast.
 
         Re-elected to the WDA Foundation board were President Dr. Thomas J. Nockerts (Green Bay), Treasurer Dr. Christine Tempas (Sheboygan Falls), and Immediate Past-President Dr. James Morgenroth (Wautoma).
 
         Regional directors of the WDA Foundation board include Dr. Bill Hutchinson (Eau Claire) serving Region 1 - Northwest, Dr. John Sadowski (Manitowoc) serving Region 2 – Northeast and Dr. Henry Wengelewski, Jr. (Milwaukee) serving Region 3 – Greater Milwaukee. Dr. Susan Cable (Kenosha) serves as a State Director.
 
         Mr. Blaine Atwater of Henry Schein Dental and Mr. Michael Ball of Edge Advisors serve as at-large directors.
